Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog Hop - AT THE BEACH

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle
AT THE BEACH Blog Hop!!!

If you arrived here by way of Shona Erlenborn's blog
and her amazing creations, then you are in the right place.
If not, you may want to go back to the beginning
so you don't miss anything.  The full line-up will be listed.

Here in sunny Arizona it's been over 100 degrees already.
We're always in beach mode!
I know for some of you in the cold, cold areas - it seems as if
summer will never arrive.  We've decided to try and help
you get in the mood for summer fun...

Last hop I did a travel scrapbook album and decided to do a smaller
at the beach version.  No photos this time, as I used the fun
Beach Babes Stamp Set 473 for my album and I have grandsons,
not granddaughters - so left it blank for your imagination.

The album was created using Stampin' Up DP and the album cover
used the cardboard piece that comes in the DP package.
The album is 6" x 11" - scored in at 5" on each side.
If you Google Back to Back Bookbinding - you should
find a fabulous U-tube video from Heidi Swapp.
I decorated the cover using Sparkle N Sprinkle's 2 1/2" Tear-ific Tape.
Check out the Tips & Techniques section on their website
for instructions on Glitter Masking.
The Hibiscus is from Stamp Set 451 - Hummingbirds & Flowers and
is highlighted using Orchid Rose Velvet Glitter from SNS.

Without further ado - meet Olive, Penny & Molly.

Here's Molly!

Here's Penny!

Here's Olive!

The photo and image panels are made with
Spellbinder's Labels 28 dies.
The girls and the hibiscus are colored with my trusty Copic markers
and highlighted with various shades of SNS Velvet and Ultra Fine
Glitters as well as a variety of Mudd Puddles Beach Glasses & Sands.
The phrases in the circles are layered onto cardstock that was
covered with 2 1/2" Tear-ific Tape and punched out with
a scalloped punch and covered with Luau Green Velvet Glitter
Check the gallery for full instructions and products used
if you'd like more info.

Hope you enjoyed my little album as much
as I enjoyed creating it!

Sparkle N Sprinkle's Anything But a Card Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle - Anything But A Card Blog Hop!!!

Hope you've enjoyed your hop so far - the design team has
some fun and interesting projects this month.
If you've hopped here by way of Marie Berquist,
then you're in the right spot.
If not, you may want to go back to the begining
(or check the list below) to make sure you haven't missed anyone.
PLUS - there are prizes hidden along the way....
you don't want to miss out on those....
To ensure that you qualify for those prizes along with
the other prizes available, be sure to leave a comment on each and every blog.

For my project this month, I decided to go with a Scrapbook Album.
It was our Paper Craft Club project this week - so
thought I'd kill two birds with one stone.   It took a while
to finish - so seemed to be a good idea.

I used a travel theme and included some photos from
England, France, Italy, Sicily, Greece and Turkey.
It also gave me the opportunity to show off several
different techniques along the way, including:
Faux Patina
Accenting with Glitter
Glitter Masking
and more........

The album uses "back to back book binding".
Full details on that can be found on Heidi Swapp's blog
and U-tube video

You may want to grab food & beverage for this one - I confess I went a little
berserk and it's kind of long LOL.....

Let's start off with the cover....

I used the Graphics 45 Travelogue Collection
DCWV - Tradewinds Collection
and
CM Wieland Printery Collection
and various other scraps from my scrap boxes.
A few metal brads from Stampin' UP and
embellished with Sparkle N Sprinkle glitter.

Additionally, I used the Faux Patina technique
on the decorative band for the flap.
Sparkle N Sprinkle's Antiquities Embossing Powder is perfect for that.
The Chevron Embossing Folder is Sizzix (Stampin" UP)

This is what you see when you first open the album.

I accented some of the elements from the cardstock with glitter and also added
a band of glitter (Florida Beach) utilizing 1/2" Tear-ific Tape.

Next up - the Eiffel Tower!

Using Antiquities Embossing Powder again, I used Bonjour from Stamp Set 326
and layered it onto a Spellbinder's Fancy Frames Tags Two Tag.
I used the Super Adhesive Sheets for this - laying it on cardstock first, then die
cutting it - slapped on the phrase and covered the
rest with Orchid Rose Velvet Glitter.

The Frame is layered on top of two bands of 3/4" Tear-ific Tape covered
in Black Suede Velvet Glitter and Florida Beach Glitter.

Since the Eiffel Tower photo has tulips in the foreground, it only
made sense to add the beautiful tulips from Stamp Set 491!
They're colored with Copics - highlighted with Orchid Rose and
Luau Green Velvet Glitters and fussy cut.

Big Ben and the Changing of the Guard -
Another Faux Patina embellishment on the crumpled manila tag.
The phrase was embossed onto the element from the Graphics 45 DP
and the word Travel was also embossed (both with Antiquities) and
layered onto another die cut - made the same way as the last one.

Here's a close-up  (The Travel tag is actually on the
 page beneath the London page).
The pages are varied in length.

The Appian Way and the Acquaduct....

Beautiful Taoramina, Sicily and the Blue Grotto at Capri...
Grapes & Wine - just a staple there.

I added a white (colored with Copics) Prima flower that's layered onto
an embellishment die cut from Super Adhesive Sheets and layered with
Mountain Mint Velvet Glitter....

The grapes and the wine glass from Stamp Set 449 were colored
with Copics and highlighted with Glitter and
the wine glass also has 3D Crystal Lacquer.

Venice - I thought the Asian Accents from Spellbinders (yes, I know LOL)
were perfect - like little waves.   I used a strip of the 2 1/2" Tear-ific Tape
and the Glittered Masking technique to create this fun border...  Two of the
new Velvet Glitter colors were perfect (Mountain Mint & Peruvian Lily)

Here's a close-up - the bottom layer was just designer paper.

The Grand Master Palace and one of the entrance gates to Rhodes is up next.

I highlighted the beautiful flowers at the Palace with
Orchid Rose Velvet Glitter right onto the photo.

The Trevi Fountain and the Coloseum in Rome (Roma)

Once again - here's the Antiquities Embossing Powder - I used the Sakura
Glue Pen to write my words on this one instead of an embossing pen - finer line.

Again, on the photo - I highlighted the waterfall at the fountain with
Sparkling Snow glitter.

On to the Acropolis in Athens, Greece and the Library at Ephesus, Turkey

I chose to embellish this page using, again the Glitter Masking
but using EmbossingPowder instead of Glitter!
A totally different, but fabulous look.
I used some of the flowers from Stamp Set 493 to finish off the page.
Embossing Powders used were Sangria and Copper Peddler.

One of my favorite places - Oia, Greece on the island of Santorini.

I used a vellum greeting from some little booklet I had - attached it to a manila
tag - spritzed it with Glimmer Mist and added a metal brad
and brown seam binding to finish off the page.

WHEW!!!
Bet you thought I'd never finish!!!
I hope, even though it was a long post, that you enjoyed my little
journey thru Europe & the Mediterranean....

Here's a list of all the designers on the hop.
You may want to go back and visit any you misssed

My Favorite Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to Sparkle N Sprinkle's, My Favorite Technique Blog Hop!
If you've hopped over from Karalee's blog, then you're in the right place.
If not, then perhaps you'd like to start at the beginning www.sparklensprinkle.com/blog
so you don't miss any of the fabulous creations the
Design Team has come up with.
PLUS - there are prizes hidden along the way....
you don't want to miss out on those....
To ensure that you qualify for those prizes along with
the other prizes available, be sure to leave a comment on each and every blog.

I had such a difficult time selecting a favorite technique, that I'm doing
a combination of several.  I just love coloring with my Copics,  accenting with glitter and using my new favorite Velvet Glitters in various ways (glitter masking, using embossing folders on glittered cardstock and just adding it to my shapes for extra pizzaz).
Then there are all those beautiful Spellbinder Dies....
My favorites list just keeps going on and on and on........you get the picture...

At any rate, here's my card.  It's using Sparkle N Sprinkle's
After coloring the image with my Copics and die cutting it into an oval, I used Super Adhesive Sheets to create the glittered gold backdrop for the panel.  Check out the Tips & Techniques section called Glitter Masking to see how that's done. Also included in the Glitter Masking is how I made the gold and fuschia scalloped border with the gold glitter panel that's been embossed using a Sizzix embossing folder.

I just love the new Spellbinder die set called 5 x 7 Elegant Labels 4 - that's what I used for the cream and shimmer green background pieces.  The small floral print panel has distressed edges and it's all topped off with a rose seam binding bow, a few rhinestones, a yellow pearl, and four yellow plastic floral and rhinestone embellies....

Here are a couple of close-ups.

This shows off the Glitter Masking.

This shows a little of the detail you get when using an embossing folder
after glittering up some cardstock using either the Tear-ific Tape (2 1/2" size) or
the Super Adhesive sheets and covering them with the beautiful Velvet Glitters.
Sparkle N Sprinkle's Ultra-Fine glitter line works equally as well with both techniques.

I really meant to highlight my flower with the Frosted Carmine Velvet Glitter, but picked up the wrong bottle instead - so Goldenrod Velvet  Glitter it is.....

Hope you've enjoyed the hop.....this is the end of the line.

Kitty Glitter

Here's a sweet little kitty from Stampendous that's been stamped on Sparkle N Sprinkle's Cloud Nine Velvet Glitter which was layered onto their Super Adhesive Sheets and die cut. I then colored the image with my trusty Copic markers.  It's a simple card, but cute.
The background was done using one of my favorite embossing folders from Stampin' Up
and layered with Spellbinder labels.

Here's a close-up.

Hope you enjoyed it.

Sparkle N Sprinkle Monochromatic Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Monochromatic Blog Hop!!!

If you arrived here by way of Karin Martin, then you're in the right place.  If not, you may want to start back at the beginning at the Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog to make sure you don't miss out on any of the fabulous prizes!
You must comment on each and every blog to be eligible.
Several of the prizes are "hidden" on various designer blogs.

I decided to use Set 477 - Serena Mermaid for my hop card.
Instead of doing the traditional "sea" colors of blue, I decided to go with green.  My jumping off point was this fun green, sparkly mesh that I found at Scrapbook Expo in Anaheim at Mon Ami Gabi.
It was a great fit with Sparkle N Sprinkle's  Velvet Glitter - Luau Green.  I used the Luau Green as an accent on Serena after coloring her with my Copic markers and also on Super Adhesive Sheets to make the glittery green band under the image and the frilly leaves poking up on the green mesh.   The leaves were die cuts from Spellbinder's Foliage 2 set.  The Velvet Glitters are just awesome on the Super Adhesive Sheets and the Tear-ific Tape!  I also used my old standby, Sparkling Snow Glitter on her hair and body.

In addition to the funky mesh, I used a braided green ribbon (May Arts) in pieces sticking up like sea grass and then added some ribbon roses (May Arts).

Hope you enjoyed my monochromatic endeavor and the hop.
I'm the end of the line - hope you were inspired by our awesome design team!
Don't forget - make sure you comment on everyone's post to be eligible for prizes.  Prizes will be posted on the SNS Blog on Saturday - be sure to check back to see if you won!

Here's the hop rotation in case you missed anyone.

Brenda Smalle www.rubberroomantics.blogspot.com   (that's me)
